Elizabeth Kendall for Burlingame School Board

About Elizabeth

After living in Burlingame for over a decade, I am excited to become part of the governing fabric of our community. With three children in the Burlingame school system, I have a strong vested interest in ensuring its prosperity. As a research scientist with a PhD in engineering, I am eager to implement the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in our schools. When adopted appropriately, NGSS will train our children to approach science and engineering creatively and confidently for life. I will work hard to understand and act upon the individual needs of each school to ensure fair and equitable paths through the school system leading to successful preparation for high school and beyond. Starting as a first-time mom in the Burlingame Mother’s Club, then as a PTA board member, member of the district science committee, and volunteer for the Burlingame Community for Education Foundation (BCE), I’ve been committed and involved in the Burlingame community. At the school level I have served as the yard duty coordinator, web communications administrator, room parent, site design committee member, STEM Fair judge, and more. I now look forward to serving our city as a member of the BSD Board of Trustees.
